WatchWord Prices
WatchWord and WatchWord Live use the same hardware and the same user interface, and two different forms of software technology, to provide closed captions in cinema and live theatre contexts. Example system sizes and prices can be found further down this page, as well as prices for hiring WatchWord to make your film festival more inclusive.
Cinema
WatchWord for Cinema
In a cinema, the hardware consists of a server, and a number of pairs of glasses - a Wi-Fi system is also necessary - provided by the venue. The quantity of glasses we recommend depends on the size of the venue, or the number of screens.

During our development trials, we tested different quantities of glasses and came up with the following recommended system configurations & example prices (excluding VAT)

Additional pairs of glasses, charging docks and a distribution tablet can also be supplied, these may be required in larger, multi-screen venues.
Software subscription
Annual software subscriptions come with support and updates (as they become available or are necessary).

Installation
Installation and configuration of the system is a specialised process usually undertaken by us or one of our authorised integrators in a day or less. Costs vary from £500-£600 depending on which service provider/integrator you use.

Hiring WatchWord
Want to make your Film Festival more inclusive? Providing WatchWord closed captioning is a great way of welcoming D/deaf, deafened and hard-of-hearing cinema audiences. WatchWord has been provided to the British Film Institute for the London Film Festivals in 2023, and 2024.
